Four General English
Course Options

  • Part-time
    English Winter
    (15 lessons per week)
    • Integrated English classes with a focus on the 4 main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, with the main objective being improved fluency.
    • Sub skills including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are also studied.
    • Flip-flop schedule rotates daily between morning and afternoon classes.
  • Part-time
    English Summer
    (15 lessons per week)
    • Integrated English classes with a focus on the 4 main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, with the main objective being fluency.
    • Sub skills including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are also studied.
    • Morning classes with afternoons free. Ideal for afternoon or evening activities or jobs.
  • Full-time
    English Winter
    (20 lessons per week)
    • Integrated English classes with a focus on the 4 main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, with the main objective being fluency.
    • Sub skills including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are also studied.
    • Flip-flop schedule rotates daily between morning and afternoon classes.
    • Includes an additional hour lesson daily to work on applying new material learned and improving fluency.
  • Full-time
    English Summer
    (25 lessons per week)
    • Integrated English classes with a focus on the 4 main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, with the main objective being fluency.
    • Sub skills including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are also studied.
    • Morning classes with an additional 2 hours of lessons in the afternoon per day. Classes focus on specific needs as well as to offer time to learn in Whistler's natural environment.

  • START Recently graduated from high school with an upper-intermediate level of English.
  • GOAL To obtain an internationally recognized English certificate.

Recommendation:

Cambridge Preparation Course

  • START Recently graduated from university with an intermediate or higher level of English.
  • GOAL To study English in an immersion environment while enjoying world-class skiiing and snowboarding.

Recommendation:

Part-time English Winter. With this course and a Whistler Blackcomb season pass both of these goals are achieved.

  • START Looking to take a break from studies at home.
  • GOAL To live and work in an English-speaking country.

Recommendation:

Full-time English (Summer or Winter) to maximize English improvement.

    Kate started at IH Whistler as a teacher in 2009 and has been the Director since 2011. Originally from Toronto, her love of snowboarding brought her to the mountains and she never left. Kate loves all of the outdoor activities that Whistler has to offer and is eager to share these with you!
