Exam Preparation Courses


The Cambridge ESOL General English suite of exams is recognized around the world by thousands of employers, universities and government ministries as proof of ability to use English. The Cambridge certificates never expire and do not need to be renewed — they are an achievement for life.


Of the main suite of examinations, IH Whistler offers preparatory programs for the First Certificate in English (FCE) for Mid-Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate students, and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) for Advanced students.  


FCE & CAE preparation courses consist of 25 hours per week and are available for 9 - 12 week sessions beginning in January, March or September. Contact IH Whistler for specific course schedules and recommended start dates.



Cambridge English: First, also known as First Certificate in English (FCE), is an upper-intermediate level qualification. It proves you can use everyday written and spoken English for work or study purposes.


The demand for high-level English language skills is increasing all around the world. Passing Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) is proof that you have a high-level achievement in English.
